Floor heating

Why use hot-water floor heating in the entire building?

Because it is comfortable and efficient, and thus, it is more ecological. Another advantage of the underfloor heating is the possibility of using low-temperature sources such as heat pumps, vacuum tubes or boilers.

Specifications of the hot-water floor heating

Podlahové vytápěníHot water floor heating has its own specifics. It is not entirely necessary to complicate the project; however, some technical issues must be respected. For example - the distance from the pipe itself is fundamentally influenced by the type of flooring. Flooring system also allows cooling - i.e. air conditioning, if the heat pump is equipped in such way. This type of heating system has a high self-regulatory capacity. This means that the total power is emitted in a small temperature difference between the floor surface and the room air (usually 6 K). In case of room temperature increase of 2 K, the heating power decreases by 30 % without any intervention by the user.

Why is the hot-water heating so economical?

Because the total radiant space of this type of heating is huge (floor and more areas on rebound - the ceiling and walls), and therefore, the user perceives not only the room air temperature, but also the so-called resulting temperature, which effect is well-known during spring skiing in shorts and shirt.

What is the relationship with various types of coverings?

Above all, control the underfloor heating via the water flow change is not effective, and thus, the project should be done correctly. If the object has several types of flooring, an attention must be paid to the spacing of pipes. Wooden floors and tiles will have different spacing of pipes (if different water temperatures are not considered - this is indeed technically solvable but very difficult). It follows that before processing of the floor-heating project, the designer must obtain accurate and fixed layout of the floor coverings in the building from the investor. What a huge difference it can have can be seen from the table of the floor heating output and covering correction coefficients, with which the values in the table are re-multiplied.

Individual expansion units of the floor heating (usually approx. every 20 m2 apart), separated from the walls by the expansion tape are sealed continuously by the tiling to permanently flexible sealant. If the tiles in one direction exceed the size of about 8 m, the expansion must be attributed to the surface - the tiling. Floating floors are not so delicate but both floors must have well-thought out circumferential upstand. Covering must be freely sliding under this upstand under the influence of thermal expansion. If you still choose flooring to regulate the flooring system via a temperature and flow interference, remember that it must always be for the whole room, even for a few loops at once; otherwise your expensive flooring can become damaged.
