BRASS AND PPSU DISTRIBUTORS FOR HEATING, SANITARY INSTALLATIONS AND THEIR MEASURING AND REGULATION (MaR)
As a new world item the REVEL Company offers distributors from PPSU materials for heating (not for sanitary installations). Distributors are designed as individual parts, which can be set together into desirable sets. Assembled distributors are delivered by the REVEL Company according to the particular order but a wholesale customer has a possibility to reduce his distributor stock supply and he can set together particular dimensions and distributor types by himself. Different types of parts are delivered for the distributor and the collector. The first one has a four-stage integrated pre-adjustable valve and the second type has an integrated flow meter with range
0.5–2.5 l/min. Hand heads and thermo-drives 230V and also 24V in common use can be applied on PPSU distributors (valves with thermo-drives are closed without voltage). Outputs from the distributor are provided with Euro-type cones – standard distributor outputs. Like brass distributors, PPSU also have a sort of screening on Euro-type cones, which creates final additional resistance supporting regulation with different lengths of particular loops.
As a part of distributors there are also transfers to plastic pipes (the same reducers are also used with metal-plastic). As supplementary equipment the company offers T shaped pieces with thermometers. A mixing distributor of floor heating developed by the company for transfer from a system of any higher input temperature to a low-temperature level system is attractive technically and also price-wise. This item will be especially appreciated by investors requiring a combination of radiators and floor or wall-mounted heating in a building. This combination utilizes direct-acting temperature regulator, which is supplied in the temperature range of 10–80°C (RL101) as a standard. The device operates in the following way. The upper distributor (which is in fact a collector here – ! in this case thermometers and flow meters belong under this part) takes in water with the temperature equal to that of the radiator distribution system, through a ball valve. The upper part, here a collector, takes in the cold water returning from the large-area system. This results in formation of a false three-way mixer ensuring mixing of heating water to a low-temperature level. Three-speed circulating pump (MYSON CP53) draws water from the above and forces it down to the distributor. The thermometer placed under the pump shows the run-up temperature of water to the large-area system. If the temperature of the water coming to the direct-acting regulator, which has 1 % permeability, is higher than the preset one, then this regulator is closed and the heating system circulates by itself without any supply of water with higher temperature, until the direct-acting regulator releases a part of the cold water and enables supply of the new water from the radiator circuit. In any case, it is necessary to ensure flow prior to the mixing distributor since under certain circumstances the flow through the mixing distributor is practically none and for example the suspension boiler would break down without by-passage. This can be conveniently arranged by a bathroom ladder or a small heating body without thermal head. If this is not adhered to, the mixing distributor may be subjected to undesirable pressure from the external pump and its function may be impaired. Pump of the mixing distributor is controlled via thermostat (e.g. RL14) placed in the reference room with the large-area system. On the other side its control together with the boiler is unsuitable. Place the boiler control thermostat in the room with radiators. If the pump is not working, the large-area system cannot produce heat. Another new world item in the offer of mixing distributors is PPSU distributor for combination of spoke-wise connected radiators and floor heating. The distributor has common inlets and outlets solved separately from radiator and floor circuit. In the lower part of the distributor there is inserted an inner blinding which balances hydraulics. This type of distributor is also used for two large-area systems with different temperatures, e.g. during connection of wet and dry system or floor and wall system.

The distributors are placed into boxes, the recommended lengths of which are indicated in the table of distributors. Placement of distributors in the highest point is practically required (be careful about level changes in ground plans). An exception is deaeration of small floor heating systems in higher floors through the bathroom ladder. If the floor system is installed in bathrooms only it is possible to use the pipe from the return branch of the radiator system with PE cover or a direct-acting temperature regulator (RL101) is used at the end of this parallel loop, which ensures cooling to the low-temperature level (Caution! Heat separation from the return line of radiator circuit is necessary here in order to prevent it from being subjected to heat effect). We would also like to point out the products FHV-R and FVH-A by Danfoss, which can also be used, but which are not supplied by REVEL. As a regulation of individual circuits of the floor heating the company offers room thermostats and valve thermo-drives, which may be additionally placed on the distributors at any time. The thermostat supplied is able to control up to several tens of thermo-drives or only one (thermo-drives are compatible with the valves of radiators RL315 and RL362 and also with the valves of VK bodies – and are supplied in 230V and 24V version.
For MaR the company offers microprocessor-controlled equitherm regulation for mixing distributors. Operation of the device consists in comparison of temperature differences between a sensor on the southern and northern facade and adjustment of the curves of run-up water sufficiently in advance to prevent overheating of rooms, especially in interim periods. The regulation is placed in an elegant plastic box designed for wall assembly in the interior or, as the case may be, installation in electric switchboard on DIN-ribbon. Northern side, southern side, heating and reference room temperatures are recorded. A regulation valve which centrally lowers the temperature on distributor, circulation pump, fan-coil or other elements of quick heating-up (e.g. fireplace insert fan, valves of some heating circuits of floor heating, fan-coil and other) and breakdown signal of particular device parts are controlled through output. System switching, including boiler, reduction or quick heating-up may be controlled through binary inputs (see the connection diagram hereinafter), including remote control with additional equipment or through PC.
